From childhood joy to military trauma, a journey of a man who found healing and inspiration in the sea. 

Hi there, I'm Jonathan, the founder of Salty Notion, a fashion brand that captures the peace the ocean brings to our lives and spreads positivity ,gratitude and good vibes. As a young boy, I spent countless hours exploring the ocean, surfing, and finding solace at sea.

However, my life took a sharp turn when I joined the army. during my service I suffered a physical injury, and experienced mental and physical abuse. For a long time, I was traumatized and physically disabled, in a way that I struggled to perform even the simplest tasks.

Once my army service ended, I turned back to the sea where I rediscovered the profound impact it has on our lives. From the aggressive mindset of an infantry soldier, I found a different world - one of kindness, humility, gratitude and positivity. The ocean and ocean sports proved to be incredibly therapeutic for me, improving my physical and mental well-being. Surfing, paddleboarding, and diving strengthened my mind, my muscles and improved my mobility. The ocean's calming effect reduced my stress and anxiety, providing me with a new perspective and grounding me in a sense of serenity.

So I decided to  embark on a journey to discover more about the cultures and importance of the ocean around the world. From the Philippines to Greece, I saw how the ocean brought peace  healing and serenity to those who take a part in it.

Inspired by my journey and love for the ocean, I founded Salty Notion. Our brand brings together surfers, divers, sunset chasers, and everyone who shares a love for the ocean's amazing qualities. Each of our pieces of clothing is inspired by the ocean and its magic, capturing a different essence of the sea.

At the heart of our beliefs is the idea that fashion should do more than just look good. It should also tell a story and convey a message. We think that clothing is a powerful way to express yourself, show who you are, and share what you care about.

We're committed to reducing waste and being kinder to the planet. To do this, we only make t-shirts when people ask for them, and we use technology that's better for the environment to print our designs. All of our T-shirts are made from the highest quality combed and ring-spun organic cotton that is better for the planet. Our designs are not only aesthetically pleasing but also possess a deep meaning, and our objective is to create fashion that has a positive impact on the planet.

Salty Notion is more than just a fashion brand, it's a celebration of the ocean and its profound impact on our lives. It's a community of people who share a love for the sea and its magic. We aim to spread positivity, gratitude, smiles while using organic and recycled  materials, one shirt at a time.
